Well, this is a first for me so here goes….
In response to “ACA IS NOW WORKING’ by Bruce Miller. Is this guy delusional. I can’t turn on the television or open a newspaper without hearing about the pitfalls of this disastrous law. It’s everywhere. Yet he doesn’t hear people “talking much about….”Obamacare””because it’s “actually working”: Does he live on the moon? Maybe a little further out in space?
In his letter,he supports this disaster by mentioning the number of Obamacare enrollees. “Six million Americans” have enrolled. Really! Four of the six million are Medicare enrollees who pay NOTHING. Does this guy realize that someone has to pick up this tab? Does he think the 2 million who have signed up will do that? Most of these 2 million are also being subsidized by Uncle Sam (taxpayer aka China)). So they aren’t paying much either. Does the delusional one understand that Obamacare was intended to be self-supporting (well, that’s what is advertised). The intent was that the majority of the costs associated with the six million cited was supposed to be paid for by the young and healthy. The plan is that the young will pay for healthcare they they don’t need (because they are young and healthy and won’t use it) to pay for the medicare and subsidized people that are underpaying or paying nothing. Unfortunately, the young are not signing up either and quite likely won’t. So, look for the taxpayers to pick up the additional tab. Just as a side note, picking up the tab by the taxpayer is not a real issue with delusional people like the letter writer. Yep, money grows on trees and the working people who pay taxes can always fork out more. Or here’s another good idea…. we can simply add it to our $17.3 trillion debt and pass it on to these same young people (and their kids) It should also be mentioned that even without unplanned taxpayer bailouts, Obamacare is forecasted to add $3 trillion more to the debt over the next few years. Is that insane or what? .
In addition to this insanity and what is not mentioned by Miller is that 6.3 million people have lost their coverage (yep, more have lost coverage than gained). Of these 6.3 million, only 10% of these r former healthcare payers have found insurance replacements. The rest have been forced to the Obamacare website. Most did not enroll because their premiums and deductibles have skyrocketed. They simply can’t afford it anymore. I’m speculating here, but my guess is that many have decided to pay the fine and put the money in a healthcare savings account and pay for healthcare services directly. They can at least keep their doctors and if lucky, save some money. It’s a crapshoot. But you can’t pay for something you can no longer afford.
Now, what is left out of the discussion so far, is the business mandate. It kicks in later this year since our president gave businesses a one year pass. Healthcare cancellations for the business mandate portion of Obamacare has been forecast at upward of 50-80 million more people. This is going to get really good.
The intent of Obamacare was to cover the 20% who didn’t have insurance by taking the extra cost from the 80% who had insurance and LIKED IT. This has caused mass confusion and disarray. Sad thing is that recent polls indicate that the 20% who Obamacare was intended to cover don’t want it and aren’t signing up either. Finally, when all is done, it is forecasted that 20-30 million people still won’t have healthcare coverage.
Obamacare is simply a sham and borders on the criminal. I can only hope that these delusionals wake up. WAKE UP and throw the other delusionals out of office.
