The 2014 ZERO Prostate Cancer Run / Walk is scheduled for Saturday, October 11th at Tucson’s Reid Park Zoo – previously in December! Please see the below request from Dr. Belkoff for your partnership and support as we continue to make a difference for prostate cancer in Tucson. This year’s local proceeds will go to St. Elizebeth’s Health Clinic for the diagnosis and treatment of prostate cancer and to the University of Arizona for prostate cancer research projects. We look forward to partnering with you!
Prostate cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death among American men and is the most commonly diagnosed with an estimated 233,000 new cases of prostate cancer expected in 2014. Here at Arizona Institute of Urology we have a commitment to our community – to save lives by creating awareness about prostate cancer; raising money for prostate cancer research and free local prostate cancer program; and to make a difference for those that are affected prostate cancer.
In our commitment to ending prostate cancer, we partnered with non-profit, ZERO-The End of Prostate Cancer, in 2011 to help in the fight to end prostate cancer. We are excited to announce that we have partnered with them again for our Fourth Annual Zero Prostate Cancer Run/Walk at Tucson’s Reid Park Zoo on Saturday, October 11th, 2014! With life-saving programs like this we have raised over $250,000, screened over 200 men locally, supported research efforts, and offered funding for the diagnosis and treatment of prostate cancer.
We would like to extend an invitation to you to be our partner for this year’s 5K/10K Run/Walk and Fun Zoo Walk. Our other events have been wildly successful and we are excited to be making a difference for prostate cancer in our community. We have lofty goals for ending prostate cancer and we hope that we can count on your support! We are committed to this community event being special, successful, and fun for everyone!
Thank you for your support, Dr. Kenneth Belkoff
