Wynema Honea was an active member of the Nimble Thimblers Quilting Bee.

More than 50 years ago, a group of Marana ladies, most of them wives of farm owners, began gathering regularly for socializing, and for service.
E. Wynema Honea, an early activist for incorporation of Marana and the mother of Mayor Ed Honea, died Friday, June 5, after a fight with cancer.
June 22, 2005 - It was through Bob Honea, whose teammates nicknamed him "The Mayor of Marana," that the small Northwest farm town may have seen its first claim to fame and possibly an ironic glimpse into the future of the Honea family.
