As one of the leading cancer research centers in the nation, Ventana is expanding. There are plans to have facilities in both Oro Valley and Marana.

Securaplane Technologies, a leading supplier of avionics products for business, commercial and military aircraft, has made the move from its former location at Foothills Business Park into a newly-constructed 55,000 square foot facility that will house 180 employees in Oro Valley’s Innovation Park. Securaplane’s strong market growth has made it necessary to increase the size of its operations to support production programs for business jet, air transport, rotorcraft and military customers.

USA Triathlon and Trisports offer another chance for competitors to race at the largest duathlon west of the Mississippi, with amateur athletes competing in a 5-kilometer run, a 35-kilometer bike ride and a 5-kilometer run. Transition will be located at Ventana Medical Systems campus in Oro Valley.

In 2003, John Corbett, owner of All About Running and Walking, Gregg Forzst of Ventana Medical Systems, Jami Eggold of Northwest Medical Center, and Ainsley Reeder from The Town of Oro Valley collaborated to bring a world-class half marathon to Oro Valley.
When Arizona Distance Classic co-founder John Corbett was 43 years old, his doctor told him if he didn’t get active, he might not see his 50th birthday.
