While a number of 17-year-olds are at home winning video games, Travis Glysson of Marana was out with a four-man team winning a 24-hour bike race in Utah.
Randy Metcalf/The Explorer, Marana resident Travis Glysson, 17, went to Moab, Utah earlier this month with a team of cyclists and came back with the national championship jersey. His team placed first in the junior division of the USA Cycling 24-Hour Mountain Bike National Championship.
Randy Metcalf/The Explorer, During the 24-hour race, team members finished 19 laps totaling 281.2 miles. Each rider averaged 70 miles.
