Blizzard Entertainment announced last week that they have canceled their seven year in the making MMO (Massively Multiplayer Online) project called “Titan”. For years now, the project has remained a mystery to all but those in-the-know on Blizzard’s development team. With the game in the can, the mystery remains. What was Titan?
Inspired by true events, “When The Game Stands Tall” is the story of the De La Salle High School (Concord, Calif.) football team posting the longest winning streak in football history. The film neatly illustrates the De La Salle Spartans 12-year rule on the gridiron and how “the streak” ending comes almost as shocking to the world as a Harlem Globetrotter loss in basketball. The problems the coaches, players and community have in confronting their rare defeat and moving on in life gave the film so much potential. Unfortunately, the remarkable real-life story that helped propel De La Salle to triumph once again on and off of the football field fails to inspire film-goers the same way on the big-screen.

For four of the last five seasons, the highly coveted NBA MVP award has been deservedly bestowed upon LeBron James. It made sense, as King James was unmistakably the most talented basketball player on the planet. LeBron has had the reputation of being a do-it-all player, a physical specimen, a scorer, a rebounder, a passer, an imposing defender, and a team leader. The only player to even come close to resembling a threat to James’ growing MVP trophy collection has been Kevin Durant, a somewhat one-dimensional scorer who has been the runner up in MVP voting during three of James’ four tenures. This season, however, Durant has had enough of being second best.
1. The longest-serving member of Congress ever decides to retire
Did you know that 98 State Legislators from 32 different states met in December in Mt. Vernon, Va. to discuss the possibility of the states calling for a “Constitutional Convention” for the purpose of amending the US Constitution? To remind you of high school American History, our constitution can be amended by a two thirds vote in Congress and then ratified by three fourths of the states. But you may not remember that according to Article Five of our constitution, if two thirds of the states call for a “Constitutional Convention” they can make amendments to the Constitution with the ratification of three fourths of the states without the involvement of Congress. Neither the Congress nor the President can stop it or do anything about it. The amendments then become law.
Last week, Netflix reported many movies would not be available for streaming at the start of the New Year. But with the exit of "Titanic" and "Braveheart" comes the addition of the following movies, according to CNN.
You can probably tell whether you’re going to enjoy “All is Lost” based on the film’s synopsis. Robert Redford plays a sailor on a voyage somewhere in the Indian Ocean. Without any exposition or explanation, he wakes up one morning to find that his yacht has crashed into a shipping container. The sailor has no way to contact help and little means of navigation. Even though the sailor manages to patch the hole up, his boat won’t last long with hazardous weather conditions on the horizon.
I’ll just leave this here…
(CNN) -- "I have a dream this afternoon that my four little children will not come up in the same young days that I came up within, but they will be judged on the basis of the content of their character, not the color of their skin."
