The latest media rankings for high school football are out and there is starting to be a lot of moving going on as the season gets into its fourth week.
Storms affected every football game in Southern Arizona last Friday. There was not a single game in the area that was not delayed or postponed. Two games, CDO/Ironwood Ridge and Pusch Ridge/ Scottsdale Christian did not resume that night.

The Pusch Ridge and Mountain View football teams were both in action on Friday night, but each had different results.
Friday night means a full slate of football games involving Northwest Teams. The highlight of the schedule is the rivalry match-up between Canyon Del Oro and Ironwood Ridge.
The Pusch Ridge girls volleyball team earned a very tough 3-1 win over Sahuarita on Wednesday night.

The story of the week in high school sports was the return of Bridgett Doucet. The CDO senior cross country runner finished second in the state two years ago, but missed all of last season dealing with an illness. She did come back for the track season, but she served notice at least week’s Northwest Showdown that she was all the way back and a real contender for a state championship.
Glendale’s Joy Christian won the field position battle and made a smart tactical move and that led to their 28-6 road win over Pusch Ridge Christian last Friday night.
