The Town of Oro Valley is at a crossroads. We have the opportunity to purchase 324 acres of land in the heart of our community, a 31,475-square-foot building which could be converted into a community and recreation center, 31 tennis courts, 45 holes of golf and two swimming pools, all for $1 million in cash over a three-year period.

Chabad of Oro Valley will ignite a public menorah erected at the Oro Valley Public Library followed by a community-wide celebration on the 2nd night of Chanukah, which falls out on December 17. The ceremony will feature greetings from Mayor Hiremath, a fantastic fire show, hot latkes, fresh donuts, lively music, and crafts for kids.

The latest National Weather Service Forecast indicates that rain will continue through the day. As the election for Mayor and three Council seats draws near, it’s time we, as Oro Valley residents, open our eyes. Let’s take a look to see what the four incumbents have done as a council and as individuals.

Covering all aspects of how the town operates and on topics where debate has sparked in the past, the candidates for the Oro Valley mayor’s seat and the three available council seats participated in the first public forum on July 9.
At the request of the WLB Group, the Oro Valley Town Council voted unanimously to modify the review process for the Kai Naranja Development.
