From U.S. Navy SEAL Chris Kyle’s position atop decrepit buildings in Iraq, his hidden presence seemed like anything but unknown to those in his close proximity. U.S. ground troops, going door-to-door searching for insurgents, gained confidence knowing that America’s best-ever sniper was providing them over-watch protection from high above. Enemy forces also grew to know of Kyle’s legendary marksmanship skills and close whereabouts, witnessing their al-Qaeda in Iraq members dropping dead after each single shot from Chris’ rifle. No one, however, was more aware of Chris Kyle’s presence and four tours of duty in Iraq than his wife, Taya Kyle, left behind in San Diego. It’s that marriage and relationship between Chris and Taya Kyle that “American Sniper” steadies upon, takes aim at, and, ultimately scores a direct hit for viewers. Between sighting in terrorist targets and actually pulling the trigger as Kyle, Oscar-nominated actor Bradley Cooper must control his breathing—the same task moviegoers must master in this heart-pounding, emotional true story.
(BPT) - Men and women are not the same when it comes to retirement planning. Consider this: A husband and a wife of the same age, earning the same salary and looking to retire during the same year need to account for different factors in retirement planning. This is true even if they share a household, hold joint responsibility for their finances and equally contribute to the amount of incoming funds.

When an injury in December 2012 forced Robert Acosta to put his soccer dreams on hold, he returned from New York to his hometown of Tucson with five outfits, a couple training jerseys, and $18 to his name.
I am very pleased to announce that District 1 will be receiving a large portion of the $5 million allocated for road repairs this year. Although the County Administrator did not approve of road repair funds being allocated for neighborhood roads, there was some good news for residents when the Board approved $1.9 million for arterial road repair projects in District 1 at the November 18th Board of Supervisors meeting. While I did ask for consideration of funding neighborhood roads in failing condition, I was informed by the Director of Transportation that only arterial roads would be addressed. Regardless, at this time of Thanksgiving, I am very thankful that my fellow Supervisors approved any funding for District 1 road repairs and hope we can continue to work to find solutions to our road problems.
