The first major upset of the day was between third-seeded and 2010 Accenture champion Ian Poulter and 14th-seeded Rickie Fowler. Fowler defeated Poulter 2 and 1 and will face six-seed Jimmy Walker tomorrow.

Thousands of golf fans made their way to the course for any number of reasons. Some were strictly business-related visits. For others, beer, sun and relaxing were the only ingredients necessary for a good time. Devotees of all ages were focused on obtaining the ever-popular autographs and photographs during the practice rounds, while others followed the golfers diligently each day and basked in their glory.

Golfers and caddies make their way down the fairway of the third hole Monday morning, the first day of warm-ups, in preparation for the Accenture Match Play Championship, which begins Wednesday. Golfers from around the world, including Tiger Woods and last year’s champion Ian Poulter, will compete during the weeklong event at the Ritz-Carlton, Dove Mountain in Marana.
