On Friday night, Marana, without two starters and just eight players in uniform, edged Flowing Wells 32-30. The win was not easy, but nothing has been this year for the Tigers. The win boosted the Tigers’ record to 13-3, not bad for a team that did not have a coach in the middle of September.
Former CDO standout Shelley Duncan was named the manager of the Hillsboro Hops, the Single-A affiliate of the Arizona Diamondbacks. Duncan, who retired from baseball last year. He was set to be a volunteer assistant at the University of Arizona before taking the position within the Diamondbacks organization.
