While there were some technical issues at the start of the show, it didn’t take long for country star Dwight Yoakam to get the crowd excited at the Fox Theater last week in Tucson.

An economic impact study recently completed for the Fox Tucson Theatre Foundation concludes that the Fox Theatre brings approximately $3.4 million in “direct spending” to downtown Tucson annually. Of that, nearly half is spent at downtown businesses other than the Fox. The biggest beneficiaries are restaurant and bar establishments, where Fox patrons spend $1.2 million annually.
Throughout his time at Canyon Del Oro High School and in working toward his degree from the University of Arizona, Clark Jewett’s life has slowly been preparing him for this month. On May 17 and 18, his musical will be performed at Fox Theatre.
Last month the Arizona Daily Wildcat reported that the University of Arizona had been ranked among the nation’s most healthy campuses by greatest.com. It should be no surprise, then, that the university is teaming up with The Fox Theater to bring a new and informative lecture series on nutrition to the local community.

The Fox Tucson Theatre Foundation will host the second annual Chasing Rainbows Gala on Sunday, November 18, 2012 at the Fox Tucson Theatre (17 West Congress Street).
