The Academy for Cancer Wellness will hold its 12th annual Music and Memories concert and silent auction at 6:15 p.m Saturday, May 10 at Grace St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 2331 E. Adams St., Tucson to benefit its Under-Insured Cancer Patients Endowment Fund. The program will feature performances by members of the Tucson Symphony Orchestra and more, performing music by a variety of composers including Schubert, Dvořák and Schumann.

Soloists for the 2012-2013 Southern Arizona Symphony Orchestra season, include seven professional guest artists. All soloists are traditional instrumentalists/voices, and include pianist-soprano-violist-mezzo soprano-female vocal quartet-flutist-violinist, and a skilled amateur Youth Concerto Competition winner to be selected in March. Every concert will feature at least one soloist. In addition, Orhan Saliel from Turkey will be guest conductor for the second program on Nov. 17 and Nov. 18.

The University of Arizona School of Music presents a recital featuring Mexico’s National Symphony principal flutist Julieta Cedillo, joined by faculty artists John Milbauer on piano and William Dietz on bassoon. The recital, co-sponsored by the Mexican Consulate in Tucson, will take place at 7:30 p.m. on Jan. 20 in Crowder Hall.
