Fitzgerald/Special to The Explorer, Tucson Dance Academy instructor Carly Booth leads the girls in a routine she taught them during the ballroom workshop held last Saturday at the Tucson Dance Academy on Ina Road. Approximately 60 young people refined their ballroom dance skills at two Saturday classes. Carly, a Mountain View High School student, and Radomir Pashev took third place at the 2009 World Youth Pro/Am International Latin Championship.

When the dance team folded at Ironwood Ridge High School in 2001, most of the school's varsity-squad hopefuls expressed disappointment and moved on.
