You may have heard or read lately that Pima County has the most debt of any county in the state.

Pima County encompasses more than 9,000 square miles of rolling desert terrain and isolated mountains covered with cedars and pines, steep canyons and abundant wildlife. The landscape is the county’s greatest asset.
The Kresge Foundation has awarded Pima County $50,000 to help get its innovative Pay For Success program off the ground. Tucson Electric Power also is the first local organization to donate funds - $10,000 – to the program.
The Office of Internal Audit in Pinal County is under review by the Board of Supervisors. On Nov. 13, Supervisor Todd House criticized Chairman Steve Miller of conducting a “witch hunt” against Internal Auditor Kate Witek. Steve Miller did not respond to the attack.

Contrary to (Marana) Mayor Ed Honea’s recent guest opinion (“Passage of SB 1171 would be great for business,” March 16, 2011) alleging that Pima County’s wastewater services system has not “…been run properly,” a quick check of the facts show that the opposite is true.

Kuper, a recent S.O.S diversion and his housemate Dash. The owner adopted Kuper from PACC and attempted to return the dog because he and Dash did not get along when they met. Volunteers assessed it may have been a poor doggy introduction. The owner went home and with the advice from a dog trainer was able to assimilate the new dog into the home.
