On Aug. 27 and 28, 300 long-distance motorcycle riders will converge on Tucson for the 39th annual Three Flags Classic tour. Riders from all over the USA and Canada will leave Tucson early Friday morning of Labor Day weekend and travel the West’s backroads to Harrison Hot Springs, British Columbia. Their four-day, 2,300-mile journey will take them through parts of Arizona, Utah, Idaho, Oregon, Washington and British Columbia. Riders stop and overnight wherever they want, but need to make checkpoints during their operational hours.
The 2014 Arizona Distance Classic was held in Oro Valley on Sunday, March 23. More than 2,000 runners came out for the event, which included a half marathon, quarter marathon, 5k, a kids run, and a senior mile.

Walking just 20 minutes a day provides numerous health benefits. Many area walking enthusiasts will hit the road as participants in the Splendido Super Mile as part of the Arizona Distance Classic on March 23.
Juan Cardenas will be doing more than just running the Arizona Distance Classic Half Marathon on March 23. Besides running, Cardenas will be asking people to pledge money towards his race in efforts to raise a minimum amount of $5,000 for The Tucson Boys and Girls Club.
When an event reaches its 10-year anniversary, it signifies something special. When that event continues to be hosted at the same venue year after year, it’s an accomplishment.
