In last week’s edition of the Explorer News we ran a story on former Pusch Ridge baseball player Aaron Vaughn who had signed a free agent deal with the Houston Astros organization and was playing for their Rookie Ball affiliate in the Gulf Coast League. One of the themes of the story was that it was a long road to the majors but through hard work and good performances, it was possible to rise through the ranks. Vaughn made the first steps last week.
Aaron Vaughn may be a professional baseball player, but his life is a little less than glamorous. The former Pusch Ridge hurler is currently playing in the Gulf Coast League, one of the lowest levels of minor league baseball.
Former Pusch Ridge and recent Northwest Nazarene graduate Aaron Vaughn has agreed to a free agent contract with the Gulf Coast League Astros, the Rookie League affiliate of the Houston Astros. He reported to Kissimmee, Florida to sign start his professional career earlier this week.
