The Tucson Padres have won two of three games since the Pacific Coast League All-Star Break, beating the Fresno Grizzlies 9-5 Saturday night at Kino Stadium. The Padres lost a 5-2 lead in the sixth inning but scored twice each in the sixth and eighth while the Tucson bullpen held Fresno from the sixth inning on.

Jorge Reyes struck out eight batters Saturday, falling two shy of the team record held by Will Inman. Josh Spence entered in the seventh inning, pitching for the first time since he was placed on the disabled list on June 24. Spence faced two left handed hitters and retired one before being replaced by Brad Boxberger, who struck out Brett Pill and got Todd Linden to ground out to end the inning. Cory Burns pitched the final two innings, picking up his second save of the season.

Vince Belnome continued his hot-hitting homestand Saturday, going 4-for-4 with two doubles and an RBI. Belnome is now 7-for-11 since the All-Star Break. Jedd Gyorko went 3-for-4 with three RBIs on a sacrifice fly and a two-run home run. Gyorko now has 54 RBIs in 52 Triple-A games.
