The Pima Community College softball team (8-13, 6-8 in conference) had its offense clicking on Tuesday but Central Arizona College did as well as the Lady Aztecs were swept at the West Campus.
The Lady Aztecs lost 10-8 in eight innings in the first game. Stephanie Vejar (Tucson Magnet HS) took the loss and dropped to 5-5 on the year. Brianna Quiroz (Tucson Magnet HS) finished the game 1 for 4 with two RBIs and a run scored. Alexis Dotson went 3 for 5 with a triple and an RBI. Taylor Fabing was 2 for 4 with an RBI, a run scored and two doubles. Jackie Hernandez (Desert Ridge HS) and Victoria Mariscal each went 2 for 4 with an RBI and a run scored.
In the second game, the Aztecs rallied to tie it up but Central Arizona scored one in the sixth inning and two in the seventh as the Lady Aztecs lost 8-5. Briana Urquidez (Nogales HS) pitched in relief and took the loss dropping her to 1-2 on the season.
Down 5-1, the Lady Aztecs came back in the fifth inning. Paige Castro hit a three-run RBI double plating Mariscal, Fabing and Danielle Stensby (Buena HS) to make it 5-5. Castro finished 2 for 4 with three RBIs and Valerie Luera (Cienega HS) went 2 for 3 with two RBIs. Fabing drew four walks in the game.
The Lady Aztecs will be back on the road on Saturday when they play at Eastern Arizona College for a conference doubleheader in Thatcher. The games will be at noon and 2:00 p.m.
