Three Tucson Padres were selected to the Triple-A All-Star Game. Infielder Dean Anna, catcher Rene Rivera and relief pitcher Colt Hynes were picked through a vote of league managers, media and fans. Rivera and Hynes have since joined the San Diego Padres roster and will not participate in the Triple-A All-Star Game Wednesday night at 6:05 pm in Reno.

The Triple-A All-Star Game will be televised live nationally on MLB Network at 6:05 pm on Wednesday, July 17. The game can be heard on local radio, airing on 1290 AM The Source. The radio broadcast will be carried nationally and internationally on Armed Forces Radio.

Former Tucson Padre Everth Cabrera was selected to the Major League All-Star Game and will represent the San Diego Padres at Citi Field in New York Tuesday night. Cabrera played 58 games for Tucson in 2011 and 34 games in 2012. He is the first Tucson Padres player to be named a Major League All-Star.

The Tucson Padres enter the 2013 Pacific Coast League All-Star break with the largest first-place lead among the league’s four divisions. The Padres are 2.5 games ahead of Las Vegas and Sacramento, the two teams tied for second place. The next Tucson Padres game is Thursday at 7:05 pm when the Padres host the Colorado Springs Sky Sox.
