The Mountain View Mountain Lions’ season ended on Friday night at the hands of the Salpointe Lancers in the second round of the Division II state playoffs.

Salpointe came away with a 35-7 victory, its high-powered offense simply too much for the Mountain Lions to overcome.

Johnny Pena led Salpointe with three touchdowns, while Brogan Kemmerly added two more.

Scoring for Mountain View was wide receiver Brandon Cruz on a 25-yard reception.

With the win, Salpointe will face fourth-seeded Centennial next Friday. Ironwood Ridge will take on #2 Marcos de Niza.
