PCC Men’s Tennis Controls Singles Matches in Win

The Pima Community College men’s tennis team (2-1, 1-0 in conference) dropped two doubles matches but came back to take five of the six singles contests to beat Glendale Community College 6-3 on Tuesday in Glendale.

Joe Owen (Douglas HS) and Dylan Vo (Ironwood Ridge HS) defeated Tommy Sertich and Alejandro Tovar in the No. 1 doubles match 8-4. Vo almost went into a third set but defeated Tovar in the No. 2 singles match 6-2, 7-6 (11-9). Owen beat Sertich in the No. 1 singles match 7-6, 6-3.

DJ Campas (Douglas HS) picked up a huge win for the Aztecs at the No. 4 singles spot winning in three sets 4-6, 6-2, 6-4. Brian Soto (Nogales HS) took control of his match against Enrique Ledesma at No. 5 singles 6-0, 6-1 while Landon Trejo (St. David HS) beat Connor smith 6-1, 6-2 at No. 6 singles.

The Aztecs will play at Scottsdale Community College on Thursday at 1:30 p.m.
