Although host Thornydale was unable to win the Junior Softball All-Star West Regional, they did finish strong in the event, beating Tillamook, Oregon 16-3 in the consolation final.
Tillamook actually took a 3-1 lead after the first inning, but never scored again.
Thornydale tied things up by plating two runs in the third, then added three in the fourth, three in the fifth and seven in the sixth.
Thornydale dropped their first game, falling 9-8 to Montana. They beat Nevada 18-7, but lost a second one-run game to Montana 12-11 and were sent to the consolation bracket where they beat Oregon.
Six teams remain in the double-elimination tournament. Sunnyside from Tucson and Alaska will meet Wednesday in the championship bracket. Both teams are undefeated. Washington and Southern California meet in one Tuesday night game, while Northern California and Montana meet in another. The winners advance to the championship bracket, the losers are eliminated.
