Former Catalina Foothills soccer player Cameron Rivera will have a new home this fall. The college sophomore has transferred to Rutgers-Newark for the 2014 season.

Last season Rivera played for Davis & Elkins College an NAIA school in West Virginia. He started 14 games last season, going 12-1-1 with five shutouts and giving up just 12 goals. All told the team went 12-4-2.

Rutgers-Newark is a Division III school that competes in the New Jersey Athletic Conference. Last year they went 17-6-1 and  qualified for NCAA Tournament, falling to Roger Williams in the first round.

Rivera graduated from Catalina Foothills in 2013, where he was a three-year varsity performer.
