TSA FC closed out their second season of play on a high note. The women’s soccer club got a legitimate win and a forfeit win over the weekend to close out the season.

The team struggled this season after moving to a tougher WPSL division, but finished the year by going 2-0-1 and finished the season at 3-7-2. They will finish fifth out of seven teams in the WPSL South Division, one-point behind rival Phoenix Del Sol. Last season they won the Big Sky South Division, but due to some teams dropping out of the league, that division was disbanded and the remaining teams were placed in new divisions.

On Saturday the squad beat LA Hotspur 1-0, snapping a nine-game winless streak. Former Mountain View and current University of Arizona player Lauara Pimienta scored the lone goal of the game midway through the second half when she converted on a Mackenzie German (UTEP) crossing pass.

The goal was Pimienta’s first of the season and was just the team’s second goal in five games.

The team was scheduled to play on Sunday but their opponent, Legends FC announced they would not be traveling to play the game. They also cancelled a game against Phoenix del Sol. TSA FC was awarded a forfeit win due to the cancellation. The team opened the season with a 2-0 win over Legends FC.
