Introducing ‘Gypsy’s Return’ by local author Nikki Broadwell
Posted: November 19, 2014 - 4:00 am

When Gertrude writes her book, hoping to change the future, she never imagines the repercussions that will come from it. Loki, the Norse trickster god, is sending her messages over YouTube, calling her a witch and causing her fans to turn away. But in the background of one of these posts a familiar face grabs Gertrude’s attention – a child who bears a striking resemblance to her own baby who died years before.

Every year, the Washington Post ranks the nation’s most challenging schools.  While Tucsonans might not be surprised to hear that a local school has consistently ranked in the top 25 in the nation, they may be surprised when they hear that this top ranked school is Accelerated Learning Laboratory, a small charter school nestled away on the northwest side of town.

Do you know about the beautiful celebration of La Virgen Dolorosa in San Miguel de Allende?
Posted: October 01, 2014 - 4:00 am

San Miguel de Allende, Mexico is one of the most glorious, sought after cities in the world, and a UNESCO heritage site, preserving its Spanish colonial charm for over 500 years. I visit there frequently and I like to time my visit around Palm Sunday. On the Friday before Palm Sunday, the residents celebrate the “Sorrowful Virgen” evening, an event unique to San Miguel. This event is to honor Mary, the mother of Jesus, as she contemplates the ultimate death of her son in the coming week. Regardless of your religious beliefs, this is a memorable day.

Do you know that San Miguel de Allende is rated No. 1 city in the world to visit?
Posted: September 17, 2014 - 4:00 am

Yes, the readers of Conde Nast Traveler (2014) rated San Miguel, Mexico the No. 1 place to visit out of the top 25 cities in the world. Can you imagine that it beat out amazing cities like Paris, Rome, Sydney, Prague, Charlston, Kyoto, etc.? Why did the readers rate it so highly?  They based their decision on “its great atmosphere, excellent restaurants, culture and ambiance galore!” I can attest to the rating as it is by far my most interesting city and I return to it frequently. And you can too - just come with me on my next trip in March 2015 and you will also know why this city is at the top of the list.

CEREC Same Day Crowns
Posted: August 20, 2014 - 4:00 am

Many patients ask, “Why do I need a crown?” A dentist may recommend a crown for you to help strengthen a tooth with a large filling when there isn’t enough tooth remaining to hold the filling, protect cracked teeth from breaking and restore one that’s already broken. Crowns also cover a dental implant (tooth root replacement). Crowns are also great options for covering discolored, stained teeth.

Consider Golder Ranch Fire District’s EMS Membership
Posted: March 19, 2014 - 4:00 am

Golder Ranch Fire District EMS Membership is a way to protect you and your loved ones from the unexpected cost of emergency ambulance transport. The current Arizona Department of Health Services regulated cost of an emergency transport in Golder Ranch Fire District is well beyond $1,000. Depending on your insurance plan the cost of ambulance transportation may not be covered fully. When this occurs (or if you are uninsured) you will be responsible for the remainder of the fees from the ambulance transport. Golder Ranch has implemented an EMS Membership Program that has been approved by the Arizona Department of Health Services, that offers you protection from those fees. It will cover you and any other household members for ambulance transportation to the hospital for just $75 per household per year.
