Beware Marana motorist, Marana police have crossed over to the other side and are setting speed traps like one of our neighboring towns. The area I’m referring to is the I-10 frontage road going east at Courtney Page Way. I would think the Marana police would find better use of their resources patrolling major intersections where red-light runners run rampant or speeders on our major roads. A few weeks ago with my grandchildren in the car I decided to stay off I-10 where I could have been doing 80 mph, but in order to be safe I decided to use the frontage where traffic is sparse  and the speed limit is 50 mph. Bad move on my part. I guess Marana and the town should be ashamed that they have taken the low road I assume to fill their coffers. Talked to others to were stopped at the same location and I am writing this to inform and warn others, $215.00 could have been used in many other ways rather then paying for a set up speed trap. Shame on the town of Marana and their police dept.

Wally Jakubin,

Marana
