Typically, liberal progressives rally away from facts and towards the use of standard sound-bytes to make their case. Why didn’t Mr. Safier include Jimmy Carter in all his applauds. Long gas lines, extreme interest rates and failed foreign policies, those were certainly bold plans.

Mr. Safier, what happened to Kennedy Democrats? I recall his most important speech in Aug. of ‘62, which had to do with our economy and how raising taxes was the absolute wrong thing to do. In his words, “The single most important fiscal weapon available to strengthen the national economy is the federal tax policy - the billions of dollars this bill [tax rate cuts] will place in the hands of the consumer and our businessmen will have both immediate and permanent benefits to our economy. Every dollar released from taxation that is spent or invested will help create a new job and a new salary. And these new jobs and new salaries can create other jobs and other salaries and more customers and more growth for an expanding American economy”. That was a bold move compared to today’s Democrats.

Now, Mr. Safier calls the Republicans the Party of No.   Well, it is the Republican-controlled House that has put forth more than 15 job-creating bills that Mr. Harry Reid won’t even bring up for discussion in the Senate. But the Democrats can say “yes we can” to spending money on the likes of Solyndra, on building electric cars outside of our country that our consumers are turning their backs on, and on giving money to Brazil to drill baby drill off-shore. But, no we can’t to building the Keystone pipeline from Canada.

Mr. Safier addresses climate change. What happened to global warming? The earth was starting to chill, so that term won’t work anymore? Well, whatever they call it, Al Gore is certainly thinking bold as he rolls in the millions from pushing his agenda on the climate. The statement - “Overwhelming scientific evidence that the planet is growing warmer at an unprecedented rate” is not as overwhelming to the majority of scientists that say that there is no evidence of this because those that stand to gain from making these false claims, only use statistics from a short window of time. Now, our new Secretary of State John Kerry just made a speech where he claimed that our most urgent priority for the good of the world is for our Congress to do something about climate change. That was bold in the face of the threat of Iran, oil prices, unrest in the Middle East, and North Korea.

For those readers that wish to find out the real facts, I suggest reading two books by the author Brian Sussman, a TV journalist turned meteorologist, now a conservative talk show host in San Francisco, who wrote “Climategate” and “Eco-Tyranny”. These two books are filled with eye-opening stories that strip down the “global warming” charade.

Yes, Mr. Safier, Democrats are bold visionaries. They just can’t get anything accomplished through good intentions alone, or by being arrogant enough to think that they can succeed by doing the same things in our government that have proven a failure every other place they have been tried.
