am a member of the recently formed Continental Ranch Committee for Recall, which has grown to a fairly substantial grassroots effort.  Our goal is to recall the entire board which consist of:  John Lambert, Peggy Bracken, Marilyn Stimpson, Connie DeLarge, Robert Volbrecht, Karie Westphal and Roxanne Ziegler (who also serves on the town council in the Town of Marana).

As you may have heard by now, the Recall effort is now fully underway at Continental Ranch.  At the time of this writing, petitions are being circulated to call a special recall election.  There are numerous complaints about our existing Board of Directors, not the least of which is the fact that the BOD has decided to begin a policy of user fees for Continental Ranch residents to use their own facilities.  This was initiated first on the use Community Center, but who knows what other fees will be enacted in the future.

This was done, by the way, after the CRCA made a profit of $39,967 (after deducting a wasted $4,422 which was unnecessarily spent for a CPA firm to” manage” our most recent election) and after depositing $60,925 to our reserve fund.  If CRCA is making that kind of money, why does the Board feel it is wise to charge rental fees to Continental Ranch residents who pay dues?  Clearly, the board has other motives for the fees.

For any owner of property within Continental Ranch who has not heard of this recall movement, but wishes to get involved and regain control of their own destiny, they can call me at 544-7373.

Iles Winder,

Continental Ranch

Just got the Windmill newsletter and again it is BOD smoke screen again this month. If they spent more time listening to home owners and gave answers they would not need to write such dribble and have their no name shills write to the Explorer.

I just can not understand why people who think this BOD is sooo great will not put their names on their statements.

Maybe they are all the same person or they are John's people who just are no proud of what they write.

If you we're waiting for a letter you must have have been doing something against the CC&RS.

You should have read the CC&Rs before you bought your house rather than try to pit neighbor against neighbor or just ignoring the the CC&RS .

I have lived here for 9 years. I remember what the last board did to us. Extortion. PERIOD. I no longer have to worry every time I check my mail as to whether I am conforming to the dictatorship. It doesn't appear as though many of you remember that.

We are all supposed to live here together. We should all have the same responsibilities. We should all have each other's backs. All I see is a bunch of angry people throwing sticks like cave men. Well, please, crawl back into your caves, keep your garage doors shut and don't wave at any of your neighbors. That seems to be the way the trouble-makers in this "community" like things. Me, personally, I like the peace and quiet. I like the occasional wave, or "hello" at the mailbox.

Do NOT come to my door with a petition. It won't be pretty.

You always must wonder why people make statements but will not take credit for what they say.

    Maybe this John

I've been a resident here since 2002. I agree with Grant, this is the best BOD Continental Ranch has ever had. I remember the hell this place was with the previous board. It was ruled with an Iron Fist, and absolutely no care to the residents here. Continental Ranch residents always had to pay to rent the facilities but for some reason, residents of Sunflower do NOT. Not only that, they pay less in dues than other Continental Rand residents. Why do Sunflower residents demand special treatment and entitlements over Continental Residents who pay more?

I have lived in CR for 12 years and have been involved with what is happening here during those years. Been to committee meeting and BOD meetings. At broad meeting you must say who you are and where you live. I have never heard of Mr. Winston at any meetings he must be a friend of the BOD but either has never come to meeting to hear other's concerns or had nothing to say, say hi! To John. This election was so bad it is a disgrace. This BOD promised the commercial voters more plants in and around their properties if they voted for the current BOD, I have been told.

The BOD won only because they had the commercial vote, until last year commercial did not vote often and not many of them. This BOD will not provide the data of the election for an Independent review.

Mr. Winston says that what was written in the Windmill is the truth well you must have written it for the BOD or John since no one signed it like it should have been " written by. Name and approved by the BOD. Some one is afraid to put there name on it.

I guess Mr. Winston that you are in favor of kicking the seniors out of "our community center after 19 years of use in retaliation for many of them supporting others rather than John and his Bubble Heads.

Because I ran for the BOD I thrown off the pool committee without cause just because John and Bubble heads did not like what wrote in paper

Mr. Winston we all look forward to you attending meeting and giving some input. Just how many meetings have gone to in 17 years and how many committees have you been on. Some give to a better community and others sit back and let others do the job.

This BOD are not enforcing the CC&Rs look at the trash out in front house, weeds and parking on the street. The BOD way is to pit neighbors against neighbor.

Again say hi to John and the Bubble Heads, this is just my opinion .

FYI - the letter from the current Board in the Windmill has several inaccruacies so I wouldn't rely too much on it. How do you know this is true Grant? I assume you have served on a Committee and interacted with the Board? As the former Covenants Chair, I can speak to the extremely high Committee turnover due to bullying by the current Board, the complete non-enforcement of the CC&R's by the Board and this current letter stating homes were forecosed on due to a single weed, or an instance of a trash can being left out, etc. is completely untrue. Most people who move to a neighborhood like the CC&R's enforced due to it also increasing property values.

I have submitted my own letter to the Windmill. Since this is such a fair and just Board, you will be able to read it in the next newsletter. Surely they won't censor what is published would they?

I have lived in Continental Ranch for almost 17 years and the current Board and Management of the HOA is the best we've ever had. We just had a fair election which returned the current Board membership by landslide majorities. This recall effort seems more like sour grapes trying to nullify the election we just had. Before anyone calls the number to get involved in the unfair recall drive, do yourself a favor and read the letter from the HOA Board in the current issue of The Windmill which was mailed this week. Additional copies are available at the HOA offices. There you can read the truth.
