I agree that a Constitutional amendment limiting terms of office and requiring a balanced budget would be, in the long run, beneficial to the Republic. I also know it will not happen because the Democrats and some career Republicans oppose it. Such is the lure of power, and the idea of an almost indefinite political career. Obamacare is a gross failure of epic proportions, but we must realize that the Democrats and their supporting media consider it a mere glitch in the progressive road to utopian socialism. They will use every mean trick, every slight indiscretion, every real or imagined potential scandal, and every badly worded email, tweet, or video of the opposing voices in the political arena to castigate and neutralize perceived and real threats to their momentum. Never mind that reputations will be ruined, lies perpetuated, misinformation dispensed, because in the eyes of the Democratic Party and the mainstream media....the ends justify the means to power. With the Chicago and New York styles of Democratic power coupled with the liberalism of the Massachusetts academics and the Hollywood value system, the perfect storm will continue to stir up the waters of our democracy. In the next elections, we cannot be sure the American people will rise up against the usurpation of power and the socialist programs being enacted. There are still many who think like Obama and his confederates, still many who are indifferent, still more who are fast asleep and busy watching reality TV and transformers in action. For this last group, they are sadly detached from reality itself and cannot be awakened until the depression comes to our indebted nation in the not too distant future. I have faith in the ability of most Americans to realize how badly the Democrats and the media behave, and in how adept they are in spinning and covering up their own misdeeds while capitalizing on anything they can find or invent with respect to conservatives, Tea Party people, and Republicans. America needs change, but it will only come about if we have the stomach to confront the Democratic Party and the lies of the media, and closely examine the workings of our government, which is less transparent then we were led to believe in the past.
