Thousands attend our town events every year. From the excitement of our annual fireworks show to the magic of our Christmas tree lighting ceremony, we are proud to host fun-filled signature events that build community pride.
These events are made possible because of partnerships the town has formed with the private sector. We are fortunate to have businesses across the region that see the many benefits of supporting Town of Marana events.
For starters, Comcast again filled the role of title sponsor last week for the Star Spangled Spectacular. The town appreciates Comcast for its generous support over the years, most notably for this event. Comcast stepped in during the recession to ensure that the town was able to host a fireworks show for residents and business owners and has continued its support. Town council and staff appreciate Comcast’s assistance and consider the company to be among the most reliable of its community partners.
The town also thanks KOLD for taping and airing a public service announcement and for having Dan Marries serve as event emcee. KOLD and FOX11’s studios are in Marana and we happily partner with both stations whenever possible.
KIIM-FM, I-97.5 and Tucson Local Media provided in-kind support for the event. KIIM is the unquestioned leader in country music across Southern Arizona and Tucson Local Media has established a diverse and dominant print and online media presence with the Marana News, Explorer, Inside Tucson Business and the Tucson Weekly.
Wi-Power went through the time and expense to set up free WiFi service for the event, making Crossroads at Silverbell Park even more of a hot spot on Independence Day.
We also thank KGUN’s Morning Blend for allowing town representatives to appear on the program to build excitement for the July 4 event. Morning Blend is a daily talk show that includes news and features about the many things going on in Southern Arizona.
Town events are days and nights of free family fun. Community partners deserve our thanks for all they do to support these events. Their generosity makes Marana an even better place to live, work and visit.
