Prospective voters have until Monday to register for the Sept. 2 primary elections.

Midnight Monday, Aug. 4, is the cutoff for the Sept. 2 primary election. Voters may register after Aug. 4, but they will be eligible for the November general election only.

Forms can be obtained from the Pima County Recorder’s office, any Department of Motor Vehicles branch, all libraries, post offices, political party headquarters, and city and town halls.

Aug. 4 is also the first day to request an early ballot for the general election.

The last day to request a vote-by-mail ballot for the primary is Aug. 22. The last day for the general election mail-in ballot is Oct. 24.

For the 2008 presidential preference election, 91 percent, or 36,621, early ballots were returned in Pima County.

The 2004 general presidential election also recorded a returned ballot rate of 91 percent.

Registration can also be done online at www.recorder.pima.gov or servicearizona.com.

Call 740-4330 or (800) 775-7462 for more information.
