A collection of area crimes of note.

MARANA

• About 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 15, Marana police arrested two women after what appeared to be a lovers quarrel. The women had been arguing that morning over who had the right to stay at a boyfriend’s house, according to a police report. Both women admitted to striking each other during the argument, police said. An officer arrested each woman on charges of disorderly conduct/fighting before releasing them.

• About 9 p.m. Tuesdsay, July 15, an officer responded to a report of a stolen Ford F-250 diesel truck at the Costco store, 3901 W. Costco Drive. A customer said that when he exited the store, he noticed his black 2000 truck was missing. After filing a report on the theft, an officer closed the case pending further information.

• About 5:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 16, police responded to the Canterra Luxury Apartments, 3500 W. Orange Grove Road, to investigate a report of a stolen Toyota pickup. A man said the truck, valued at $4,000, went missing sometime the night before. While on the scene, an officer talked to a woman who claimed to have stopped two men from breaking into her car that night as well. She saw one of the men leave in the 1988 Toyota 4x4, according to a police report. The woman said she didn’t get a clear look at the men who allegedly tried to break into her car. The officer closed the case pending further information.

• About 4:30 p.m. Friday, July 18, police arrested a man at the Wal-Mart, 8280 N. Cortaro Road, on charges of shoplifting. The man allegedly stole seven Playstation 2 video games, according to the store’s loss prevention manager. The man told police he took the items to help pay for his rent, according to an incident report. He was arrested on charges of shoplifting before being released.

ORO VALLEY

• About 9:30 a.m. Friday, July 11, police responded to the Fry’s grocery store, 10661 N. Oracle Road, to investigate a report of illegal dumping. The store’s manager said he saw someone driving a black Chevrolet Silverado dump garbage into one of the store’s large roll-off dumpsters. An officer was unable to locate the vehicle because the plate he was given did not match any on file.

• About 10:40 p.m. Friday, July 11, police arrested a teen in the parking lot of Fry’s, 10450 N. La Cañada Drive, on charges of marijuana possession and possession of drug paraphernalia. After searching the young woman’s Pontaic Firebird, an officer found a small blue bag on the floor behind the front passenger seat. Inside the bag, the officer found a multi-colored glass pipe “containing residue” and what appeared to be a small amount of marijuana. The woman said the bag contained the remains of a ”nickel bag” she bought for $5, according to police. She claimed to have bought the pipe for $10. The woman also admitted to being previously arrested on drug charges in Catalina, according to an incident report.

• About 9:50 p.m. Sunday, July 13, police arrested three men on charges of criminal trespassing at the Hilton El Conquistador Country Club, 10555 N. La Cañada Drive. An officer found the men sitting in lawn chairs and fishing in a water hazard by Hole 3. One man was cited and released for third-degree criminal trespassing. The other two, both juvenile males, also were cited for trespassing and released to their mothers.
