Three new directors have been named to the board of the Greater Oro Valley Arts Council for fiscal 2008-09.
Melanie Larson, Dale Henson and Gail Munden bring the board to 11 active members, a release said.
Dr. Satish Hiremath has been chosen to continue as board president. Al Cook is the vice president, and Ed Ortelli the secretary. Director Julio Galindo has been as also unanimously appointed the arts council’s new treasurer.
Larson is a native Tucsonan who published The Explorer for many years, and now operates L&B Design. She hopes to lend expertise in marketing, advertising and fund-raising to GOVAC.
Henson is the owner and vice president of Marketing and Design Consultants, a food service marketing and consulting firm, which he founded in 1995. His strengths are in business and financial services, a release said.
Munden is a retired designer in the civil engineering field. She operated and owned Munden Civil Engineering from 1982 to 1991 with her husband. In 1991, Gail was given the opportunity to paint full-time, and has been attempting to master her craft since. Munden was GOVAC’s 2007 “volunteer of the year.”
The complete board is Hiremath, Cook, Ortelli, Galindo, Kent Barrabee, Gregg Forszt, Julia Hansen, Maya Liddell, Henson, Larson and Munden.
Bob Weede and Dick Eggerding are presidents emeritus.
