Memorial set April 11 for Marines killed in Marana

There will be a memorial service honoring the 19 U.S. Marines who were killed in an MV-22 Osprey tilt-rotor aircraft accident at the Marana Regional Airport on April 8, 2000.

The service will be held at 10 a.m. April 11. It's open to the public and free of charge.

The 19 names of those lost will be read, followed by a rifle salute, the playing of "Taps" and a release of doves.

The Tucson Detachment Marine Corps Color Guard, the Apache Young Marines drill team and several other color guards will contribute to the proceedings.
