The Oro Valley Town Council has approved an annexation at the town's south end.
The annexation encompasses about 4.3 acres of county public right-of-way along Hardy Road between Calle Loma Linda and Calle Buena Vista.
"This allows for the maintenance and operation of the roundabout," said Town Engineer Craig Civalier.
The town recently completed the design and construction of a traffic roundabout at the intersection of Hardy Road and Northern Avenue. A portion of the roadway along Hardy rests outside town boundaries.
Annexation of the property allows the town to maintain the stretch of road that leads up to the roundabout.
"The biggest concern of ours is being able to control our intersection," Civalier said.
The annexation isn't expected to cost the town beyond normal roadway maintenance. There are no residences within it.
