The Marana Foundation for Educational Excellence is recognizing contributors to education in the community during its 10th annual Heroes Recognition Dinner/Dance, to be held this Saturday at the Stardance Center at Lazy K Bar Ranch, 8401 N. Scenic Drive.

The foundation is also recognizing 14 businesses that have given more than $500 to support the foundation this year.

The evening includes dinner, presentations and recognitions followed by dancing.

Businesses and institutions to be recognized are Wholesale Floors; Creative Communications; Jim Click Nissan; Cottonwood Properties; Town of Marana; Durrant Architects; Marana Chamber of Commerce; California Portland Cement; Breakers Water Park; Vulcan; Ladies Workout Express; Turning A New Page and Angie Ziegler.

Heroes to be recognized Saturday are teachers Kristina Brewer, Bob Brummett, Danielle Chretin, Elsa Gutierrez, Michael Holm, Karlena Leal, Vickie Nissen, Sarah Parish, Jen Reiser and Lori Valentine; custodians Art Campos and Rebecca Renteria; teacher’s aides Nancy Clutter, Carrie Hasterok and Linda Underwood; bookstore clerk Liz Culver, district cashier Mary Davis; director JoAnne Gelormine; catering manager Shelley Gilbert, school secretary Elizabeth Guerra; special education aide Teresa Guillory; community supporter Dr. Sophan Kay; principal Denise Linsalata; hall monitor Lisa Ludwig; volunteers Bill Mann, Mac McCarty, Anna Janezic and Barb Rivoli; counselor Ellie Marshall; health aide Karen McChristian; computer aides Judy Paris and Charlene Vatterrodt; facilitator Monika Turner; instructional aide Laura Wagner; payroll manager Kathleen Travers and secretary Laurie Wright.
