The Pima Animal Care Center, 4000 N. Silverbell Road, is continuing its reduced rates on adoptions through September, a release said.

The cost to adopt a dog, puppy, cat or kitten remains $40, plus the cost of the license for dogs over three months old.

More than 530 animals have been in recent weeks.

“Even with all these pets finding new homes, the number of animals housed in our shelter continues to stay steady,” said Kim Janes, division manager of the Pima Animal Care Center.

To insure the health of your pets, keep current on all vaccinations before introducing a new animal into your household. Dog owners should use caution when exposing their pet to places where dogs congregate (e.g., pet shops, parks, puppy classes, obedience classes, doggy daycare, and grooming establishments) until the animal has completed its series of vaccinations.

PACC shelter hours are 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Saturday, and noon-4 p.m. Sunday.
