Randy Metcalf/The Explorer, Kimber DeLorenzo loads up the back of her car with numerous plants she bought at the Tohono Chul Plant sale last Wednesday. Park members get first pick at the plants during the plant sales.
Randy Metcalf/The Explorer, One of the most exotic of plants up for sale at Tohono Chul's plant sale was one of four Boswellia sacra plants, best known for the frankincense they produce. The plant itself dates back thousands of years and was even found in the tomb of the Egyptian King Tutankhamun. Each plant was for sale for $1,500, and they are expected to be $2,000 at next year's plant sale.
Randy Metcalf/The Explorer, Betty Anne Wheeler came to the plant sale looking for, and finding, a wooly butterfly bush.
