The “Help is Here Express” national bus tour will come to Marana on Wednesday, Feb. 4, stopping at the Marana Health Center, 13644 N. Sandario Road, to help the uninsured find programs that provide prescription medicines at little or no cost.

The bus will be in town from 2 to 3 p.m.

Since its launch in April 2005, the tour — sponsored by the country’s pharmaceutical industry — has swung through all 50 states and more than 2,000 cities, according to a release.

The bus tour is part of the Partnership for Prescription Assistance, a nationwide effort that has assisted more than 5.5 million people, including more than 81,000 in Arizona, the release said.

The bus is staffed by trained specialists who can quickly help low-income, uninsured or underinsured people access more than 500 assistance programs, including the more than 180 offered by pharmaceutical companies.

When the tour moves on, people can still access the information via the Internet at www.pparx.org, or by calling toll-free to (888) 477-2669.
