In addition to Marana's Star Spangled Spectacular, Northwest celebrations of Independence Day include:

KiiM-FM 99.5 annual Freedom Fest 2009

Rillito Park, 4502 N. First Avenue, Tucson.

Saturday, July 4. Gates open at 5 p.m. Fireworks 11 p.m. to 11:20 p.m.

Adults $15; Kids 10 and under free; VIP $30

Tracy Lawrence will be headlining the show with openers Pat Green, Gloriana, Gary Bonnett and Cindy Standage. The show will conclude with a fireworks show starting at 11 p.m.

If you would like to donate your time and work at the event, the Greater Oro Valley Arts Council is the non-profit organization of choice for the event. GOVAC is organizing volunteers for selling tickets, checking wristbands and pouring beer between 4 p.m. and 10:45 p.m. Volunteers who sign up for a 6 ¾-hour shift will receive two complimentary poolside reserved tickets to GOVAC's annual Jazz Legends concert Oct. 24. Private Hilton El Conquistador Celebration Concert and Fireworks

Hilton El Conquistador, 10000 N. Oracle Road, Oro Valley.

Saturday, July 4. 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Fireworks display starts at 9 p.m.

Rates are $149 per night (plus tax; single or double occupancy; minimum of a two-night stay required).  Choose to stay three nights and the rate is $119, per night (plus tax, single or double occupancy). Children under 18 are free with an adult. An embroidered picnic blanket is included in the package. Rates and packages are based upon availability. Advance reservations required. Entertainment Saturday with Ryanhood and Tyrone Wells. Fireworks will be from 9 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

Saturday, July 4. 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

Features a buffet of all-American food. A Marine Color Guard will carry in the American flag and lead in the Pledge of Allegiance. Dancing and music led by DJ Warren.
