On Monday, Jan. 17, at 10 p.m., Oro Valley police responded to the 8800 block of North Oracle Road in reference to a theft from a vehicle. Police spoke with a man who told them that a bag of tools had been stolen from a toolbox in his pick-up truck. The man said he thinks he accidentally left the toolbox unlocked. He told police the tools were worth approximately $1,000. No arrests were made.

On Wednesday, Jan. 12, at 8:50 a.m., Oro Valley police responded to Wilson K-8 School where officials said a student was suspected of having marijuana. Once there, police searched the contents of a seventh-grade student’s backpack. They found a lighter and condom in the girl’s bag but no marijuana. A school nurse was brought in to search the girl’s clothing. The girl gave school officials a small bag of marijuana that she had hidden in her bra. The girl was cited for possession of marijuana and released to a guardian.
