The Golder Ranch Fire District has opened a new fire station in Oro Valley.
The 7,200-square-foot facility is located at 10475 N. La Cañada Drive, behind the Walgreens’ at Lambert Lane.
Construction of the new facility cost $3 million. A four-person team will work at the firehouse.
The station is ornamented with a series of tile mosaics made by Oro Valley artist Matthew Moutafis.
Golder Ranch Fire District serves residents in a 195-square-mile area that spans Oro Valley, Catalina, SaddleBrooke and parts of Pima County.
More than 50,000 people live in the Golder Ranch coverage area.
A grand opening pancake breakfast is planned at the station for Aug. 16, at 9 a.m.
