Recycle your papers and electronic waste on Saturday, Feb. 15, when the Oro Valley Community Foundation and the Oro Valley Police Department offer a free recycling and electronic waste event.

It runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. that Saturday at Oro Valley Marketplace, the southwest corner of Tangerine and Oracle roads.

Tax forms, bank statements and any paper with personal information can be shredded. The first two boxes are recycled at no charge. Donations are welcome. Recycling is being done by Iron Mountain Disposal.

Audio equipment, cables and wire, cameras, cell phones, computers and peripherals, consumer electronics, printers, telephones, circuit boards, CRT monitors, TVs,  DVD and VCR equipment, vacuum cleaners, toner cartridges, stereo equipment, fans, hard drives, fax machines, video equipment, and other consumer electronics may be recycled. That task is handled by RISE Equipment Recycling Center, a nonprofit organization.

The Oro Valley Community Foundation is a nonprofit serving the great Oro Valley region including San Manuel, Oracle, Catalina, Marana and Northwest Tucson. The Foundation provides grants to charitable organizations that do good work in the region.

All donations are tax-deductible and can be made to the Oro Valley Community Foundation, 2250 E. Broadway Blvd., Tucson, Az., 85719.
