A strike is still possible for Sun Tran.

According to a Tuesday night update, Sun Tran officials and representatives of Teamsters Local 104 had not yet reached an agreement on a new contract for bargaining unit employees.  Negotiations and regular scheduled service will continue today but union members may authorize a work stoppage as early as tomorrow.

In the event of a strike, Sun Tran will initially offer limited weekday service on Routes 3, 4, 6, 8, 11 and 16 from approximately 6 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Limited service schedules will be posted once finalized.

Sun Tran will keep the community updated on the status of the labor negotiations through local media outlets.

Should Sun Tran experience a strike, Sun Link (the modern streetcar), Sun Shuttle, Sun Van and Downtown Loop will continue to run as scheduled.

For the latest information on possible service changes or for a list of alternate transportation options, call 792-9222 (TDD: 628-1565), visit www.suntran.com or follow @Sun_Tran_Alerts on Twitter.
