This week Conservative Leadership for Arizona and the survey/research firm Magellan Strategies conducted a poll of likely Republican primary voters in Arizona. Results revealed that Arizona Treasurer and entrepreneur Doug Ducey leads the pack with 27 percent, more than double the second place candidate. Ken Bennett came in at 13 percent, followed by Christine Jones at 12 percent and Scott Smith at 12 percent.
Conservative Leadership for Arizona Chairman Amanda Reeve said, “Poll results confirm that Arizonans identify with Doug Ducey’s entrepreneurial spirit and his commitment to leading Arizona into a new era of prosperity.”
“These results show that the dynamics in the race have changed dramatically and in large part due to Doug Ducey launching his TV ad campaign. Voters have also been moved by CLA’s ads in support of Ducey and on Christine Jones misrepresenting herself as a prosecutor. As voters learn more about the candidates, I expect Ducey’s numbers to continue to climb,” said political strategist and CLA consultant Sean Noble.
Magellan Strategies CEO and Founder David Flaherty said, “At this early stage in the Governor's primary, Doug Ducey has taken a lead over his opponents. It is clear his campaign has been effective in introducing Doug to the voters in the last month."
