With staff in place, Barber opens offices in Tucson and Sierra Vista

Fresh off his victory over GOP candidate Jesse Kelly in the special election to replace former Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords in District 8, Rep. Ron Barber’s offices are now open.

Barber and his district staff opened his offices in Tucson and Sierra Vista at 8 a.m. Thursday morning to provide a full range of services to his constituents in Arizona’s 8th Congressional District.

“If Southern Arizonans have any issue with the federal government, we will work as hard as we can to make sure their voices are heard in Washington and their concerns are addressed in Arizona,” said Barber. “I am committed to having one of the best constituent services operations in the nation.”

Many constituent service requests come from veterans and active-duty military, seniors with issues related to Social Security and Medicare benefits and families struggling to make ends meet. There also are numerous requests for assistance with passports, visas and foreign travel problems.

Barber’s staff can also help homeowners trying to navigate the Making Home Affordable program to prevent foreclosure; Active-duty military dealing with TRICARE and other concerns; Students who have issues with loans through the Department of Education; Taxpayers working with the Internal Revenue Service; Constituents needing help contacting their city, county and state governments.

Barber’s offices in Tucson and Sierra Vista will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Barber’s Tucson office is located at 3945 E. Fort Lowell, Suite 211.
