Rozanna and John Green, parents of Christina-Taylor Green, and son Dallas, above, release their balloons at the end of the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Cañada del Oro Christina-Taylor Green Memorial River Park Monday afternoon.
The park was named after their 9-year-old daughter, who was killed on Jan. 8. More than 200 people attended the ribbon-cutting and released pink and purple balloons at the end of the ceremony. In attendance were shooting survivors, local dignitaries, Christina’s classmates, representatives from Gabrielle Giffords’ office, and first responders.
The memorial park is located at Shannon and Magee roads.
