An employee with the Chuy's Mesquite Broiler Restaurant has reached a plea agreement with the Internal Revenue Service.

Diane Ingrid Strehlow, an accountant for the Chuy's cooperation, will plead guilty to conspiracy to impede and impair the functions of the Internal Revenue Service.

By pleading guilty, Strehlow faces up to five years in prison, a $250,000 fine, or both, as well as supervised release of up to three years.

The plea agreement is contingent on Strehlow cooperating with the authorities in prosecuting her employers - Christopher M. Evenson, of Oro Valley, and his father, Mark H. Evenson.

Streholow along with Mark and Christopher Evenson were indicted in April, after an inter-government investigation involving U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Homeland Security Investigations and the IRS.

According to the indictment, the Evensons are being charged with multiple criminal violations, including unlawful hiring and harboring of illegal aliens, conspiracy to defraud the IRS and tax evasion.

In April, authorities raided more than a dozen Chuy's facilities in Arizona and California to cap off the lengthy investigation.

The Chuy's on Ina Road has since reopened, but the business on Houghton Road has been put up for sale.
