Hit the links for Tucson’s newest golf tournament: ZERO Prostate Cancer Golf - Tucson! Join Arizona Institute of Urology and ZERO – The End of Prostate Cancer on Thursday, April 11, 2013 at the Omni Tucson National Golf Resort. The tournament is part of the ZERO Prostate Cancer Challenge, America’s premier men’s health event series, taking place in cities across the nation in 2013.

“Nearly 240,000 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer this year alone, including more than 4,300 in Arizona,” said Jamie Bearse, CEO of ZERO — The End of Prostate Cancer. “ZERO Prostate Cancer Golf raises funds that are critical for increasing awareness and fighting the disease.”

The tournament includes 18 holes with golf cart, box lunch, use of practice range, dinner, raffles, prizes, awards, and more! Funds raised from the golf tournament go to prostate cancer research, education, and free local testing. ZERO provides comprehensive treatment information to patients, education to those at risk, and free testing to at-risk men around the country. ZERO also works to increase research funds from the federal government to find new treatments and better diagnostic tests for prostate cancer.

We have hosted two races, offered free screenings to 165 men locally, and are now hosting our first annual Zero Prostate Cancer Golf Tournament. We also look forward to offering more free screenings this fall and our 3rd Annual Zero Prostate Cancer Run (and Walk) this November.

About ZERO — The End of Prostate Cancer (www.zerocancer.org)

Zero prostate cancer deaths. Zero prostate cancer cases and for those with prostate cancer, it means a zero PSA. Our name conveys what we stand for – all action and zero tolerance for prostate cancer.

As ZERO — The End of Prostate Cancer, we commit ourselves not only to reduce prostate cancer or alleviate the pain from the disease but to end it. We see a future where all men who have been diagnosed with prostate cancer will be cured or manage their illness with good quality of life, with the support they need to minimize physical and emotional suffering and to cope effectively throughout their cancer journeys.

To accomplish our goal, we increase research funds from the federal government to find new treatments and we fund local grants to end prostate cancer through our national event series, the ZERO Prostate Cancer Challenge. We conduct free testing through the ZERO Prostate Cancer Testing program and educate patients, families and those at-risk.

We’re a 501c3 charity, a Better Business Bureau member and 89 cents of every dollar donated goes to programs.
